Rules for minors and parents
यो कागजात अझै तपाईंको भाषामा उपलब्ध छैन, त्यसैले यसलाई अङ्ग्रेजीमा देखाइएको छ।
In short: Amagi is for people aged 16 and older. Users under 18 get additional protections: limited contact with adults, no payouts or sales, and their age and city are hidden. Parents can link their account to their teenager's account, set limits, and ask us to delete the account.
These rules add to the Terms of Use, the Community Guidelines and the Privacy Policy. "Minor" means a user under 18. The limits below are the current settings of the Service; our team can change them, and the version on this page is kept up to date.
1. Minimum age
- You must be at least 16 to create an account, or older if the law of your country requires it.
- The date of birth is required when you sign up. Our servers check it when it is first set; an account cannot be created with a younger age, and afterwards the date can be corrected only by our support team.
- Amagi is not directed at children under 13. In line with the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws, we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 16 has an account, we delete it.
2. What is different for users under 18
Contact with others
- Private messages and calls between a minor and an adult are possible only if they are friends (both accepted the friend request). Between users aged 16–17 they are possible without this condition.
- Users whose date of birth is unknown are treated with the same caution: they can message and call minors only as friends.
- Users aged 16–17 can join lives as guests and take part in PK battles with users aged 16 and older.
- Anyone can block a user or report a message, comment or profile.
What others see
- The age, date of birth and city of a minor are not shown to other users. The exact location of any user is never shown.
- Any user can make their account private, so that only followers they approve see their posts.
Money
- Payouts of earnings, selling in shops and selling paid posts are available only from 18.
- Purchases of coins, gifts, paid lives, calls and subscriptions are available from 16. Where the law of your country requires a parent's consent for such purchases, you may buy only with that consent. Parents can also use the purchase controls of Google Play and the App Store.
Lives
- Users from 16 can host lives if they meet the same eligibility as other users (for example a minimum number of followers). Public and paid lives may be recorded for safety; see the Terms of Use.
Content and recommendations
- Content is filtered by age group. Content that breaks the Community Guidelines is removed for everyone.
- Recommendations work as described in the Privacy Policy; minors can use the Following tab, "Show less like this" and reset their interests in the same way as adults.
Advertising
- Minors see internal ads and promoted posts, labelled "Sponsored", and may see ads from Google AdMob. How ads are selected is described in the Privacy Policy.
3. Parental controls
A parent or legal guardian aged 18 or older with an Amagi account can link to a teenager's account:
- The teenager opens Parental control in the app settings and creates a six-digit code. The code is valid for 24 hours.
- The parent enters the code in their own app and confirms that they are the parent.
After linking, the parent can:
- set a daily time limit (60 minutes by default; when it is reached, messages, calls, comments, posts, lives and purchases pause until the next day);
- turn private messages and calls off or on;
- add trusted contacts with whom the teenager can communicate regardless of the age rules;
- see a weekly report: minutes per day and the numbers of posts, comments, messages, new contacts, calls, gifts and reports against the teenager. The report contains no message content and no names;
- revoke the link at any time.
Parental control is optional for users aged 16 and older.
4. Privacy of minors
- We process the data of minors only as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell it.
- Under GDPR Art. 8, parental consent is needed for consent-based processing of children below the national age of digital consent (13 to 16 depending on the EU Member State). Because the minimum age on Amagi is 16, which is at or above this age in every Member State, we do not ask for parental consent for that processing.
- We follow the principles of the UK Age Appropriate Design Code where our features allow it: the best interests of the child, data minimisation, location hidden from others, limited contact with strangers, and parental tools that respect the teenager's privacy.
5. How a parent can act
- Report a concern: use Report in the app or write to support@amagi.social with the subject “Child safety”. If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police first.
- Delete a child's account: write to privacy@amagi.social with the child's username and the phone number or email linked to the account. We may ask you to confirm that you are the parent or guardian. We act without undue delay; see Delete your account.
- Correct the date of birth: write to support@amagi.social.
- Exercise data protection rights on behalf of your child: write to privacy@amagi.social.
6. Our obligations
As an online platform accessible to minors, we take appropriate and proportionate measures for a high level of privacy, safety and security of minors (EU Digital Services Act, Art. 28). Child sexual abuse and exploitation is handled under our Child safety standards.
